Live-Work Options
One of Denver’s greatest assets for live/work opportunities is its city center. Downtown Denver and its neighborhoods are home to more than 67,000 people. These neighborhoods are as diverse as the people who live in them. One can find skyscrapers or tree-lined streets, historic homes or brand new neighborhoods who have just begun development. The Downtown Denver Partnership website has regular updates on its website on many of the center city’s neighborhoods.
Central Platte Valley Restoration Project
Ten years ago, the Central Platte Valley was an undeveloped rail corridor. Now it’s Denver’s crown jewel and is home to thousands of new residents and millions of visitors. The additions to this area include numerous world-class attractions such as Six Flags Elitch Gardens, the Pepsi Center, Colorado Ocean Journey aquarium, Coors Field, and Mile High Stadium. As a result of this construction, mixed-use development has exploded. Neighborhoods adjacent to the valley have been transformed by the construction of new housing, lofts restaurants, and retail shops. Perhaps the most significant development in the valley is the restoration of the Platte River itself. Denver’s historic waterway has been reclaimed from a century of neglect and abuse and is well on its way to being the centerpiece of an extensive riverfront park and trail system linking the Central Platte Valley with the rest of the city.
