Caring for Colorado Foundation's vision is to ensure that the people of Colorado are the healthiest in the nation. Its mission is to promote and serve the health care needs of the citizens of Colorado.  The Foundation was created in 1999 when Anthem Insurance bought out a company with proceeds of $155 million.  As mandated by Colorado state law, the profit from the sale was dedicated to benefit the health of the people of Colorado.
