The City of Fayetteville’s Housing Rehabilitation Program provides housing-related services to qualified, low-to-moderate income families and individuals in order to preserve and improve their homes. The Program’s goal is to create a more livable home environment and promote housing that is safe, secure, healthy and energy efficient. The Emergency Repair Program assists qualified homeowners in eliminating conditions that are unhealthy or unsafe such as leaking roofs, broken water or sewer lines, inoperative heating systems or hot water heaters, repairing electrical hazards etc. Through the Community Resources and Code Compliance Division, the city provides qualified borrowers with deferred, forgivable loans through these and other affordable housing programs. The city’s Redevelopment Program uses Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to help low income homeowners revitalize their properties. Habitat For Humanity Fayetteville partners with families, organizations, neighborhoods and corporations to provide low income families with safe and affordable housing in south Fayetteville. Using CDBG funds, Habitat purchases properties and installs water and sewer taps for future homes as well as helping first-time homeowners rehabilitate homes around the city.
