Recognizing that technology will define much of its future, the City of Fayetteville recently sold valuable property to the University of Arkansas to enlarge the Arkansas Research and Technology Park. The city of Fayetteville is represented on the University of Arkansas Technology Development Foundation Board of Directors, which will oversee the development and management of this state-of-the-art facility. The city of Fayetteville is also using public funds and private donations to invest in community enhancements such as a newly revitalized downtown area, which links the city’s main entertainment district with the Town Square. In addition, the Downtown Dickson Enhancement Project is making specific improvements to showcase and beautify this popular downtown area including new sidewalks, street lamps, landscaping, street work and more. This area of the city is not only home to restaurants, shops and an arts center – all of which attract thousands of visitors annually – it is also home to numerous thriving businesses and residential areas.
