Citizen involvement is strong in Fayetteville and residents work together to preserve the relaxed family-friendly atmosphere that characterizes city neighborhoods. Neighborhood Associations play an active role within the city. Most Neighborhood Associations have representatives who serve on the Fayetteville Council of Neighborhoods, which meets monthly to discuss a variety of topics including individual neighborhood concerns and citywide issues. These associations and meetings give citizens a constructive way to get involved and have a voice. The Fayetteville Police Department’s Community Policing Program is closely monitored by the city’s Neighborhood Coordinator. This program allows the police and citizens to work together to keep neighborhoods safe.
