August 2006
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality presented the City with the Total Coilform Rule Program Award, which recognizes our effort, dedication and contribution to protect the state and citizens of Texas through ensuring good water quality.

June 2005
Fort Worth received a Celebrating Leadership in Development Excellence (CLIDE) award from the North Central Texas Council of Governments for the development of the Tower.

Fort Worth received the City Cultural Diversity Award, presented by the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, recognizing Fort Worth's recent efforts to improve and promote cultural diversity and provide greater access to government services by multicultural populations.

The City of Fort Worth received a President's Circle Award, from Keep America Beautiful. The award recognizes "exemplary effort" in reducing litter, minimizing waste and beautifying Fort Worth.

Fort Worth's Urban Village Development Program received a Landmark, or "Best of Category, " Award in the first-ever Celebrating Leadership in Development Excellence Awards Program for North Central Texas.

May 2003
The City's Environmental Management Department received the Texas Environmental Excellence Award,, recognizing the city's Captain Crud and the Cruddies education program as one of the state's most outstanding waste reduction and pollution prevention projects.

The North Texas Clean Air Coalition honored Fort Worth as Employer of the Year, recognizing its employee incentive program for reducing air pollution and the Clean Air Fair and Bike Rally.

The City's Parks and Community Services Department received the National Gold Medal for having the best managed large park system in the United States.
