The Fort Worth Public Health Department
The Fort Worth Public Health Department's Health Promotion and Education program enables people to gain greater control over their own personal health. Health Educators work with community agencies and schools to educate citizens about positive behaviors and to facilitate voluntary choices for healthier lifestyles. Health Promotion is based on the need for citizens to take personal responsibility for the future of their health.

The Health Educators in the department recognize the differences in the way people learn and provide information and teach the skills needed to create healthier lifestyles and healthier behaviors. Health Educators address any barriers to choosing more beneficial activities and all programs are provided at no charge to schools, agencies, community groups and other Fort Worth citizens.
