Kansas City - Finance Print E-mail

Creating a workable city takes money. Kansas City’s financial approach is to spread out the burden. The city has learned to lean on all sectors of the community for support. Its financing strategy is to fund its initiatives with money from the local and federal government, private companies, and public citizens.

The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation is known for its remarkable ability to generate financial support. Its belief is that charitable giving that makes a difference should be the responsibility of many, not just a select few. The Community Foundation manages more than 1,500 charitable funds started by individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Together, these funds represent ordinary people who have made extraordinary commitments to the community.
