Richmond - Regionalism Print E-mail

By reaching out to neighboring communities, Richmond has created a strong network of support for regional projects. Partnerships have resulted in the creation of the  Richmond International Airport and Greater Richmond Convention Center as well as expanded bus service through the GRTC (Greater Richmond Transit Company), regional organizations are working together to develop proposals for a new Richmond Braves baseball stadium. Other examples of regionalism partnerships include:

The Greater Richmond Partnership
The GRP provides the leadership to make Greater Richmond a world-class community. The
partnership helps stimulate a positive business climate to insure that the Richmond region’s existing companies grow and prosper. It attracts targeted business through a highly focused marketing strategy. And it promotes the region’s competitive advantages through the use of comprehensive information sources.

The Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce
The chamber sponsors annual visits by Richmond leaders to other cities across the nation for observation and intense contact sessions. Policy-makers, officials, and community leaders work together to broaden awareness, increase knowledge, and promote development in the Richmond metro area.
