Richmond - Transportation Strategies Print E-mail

The crowning achievement of transportation efforts has been the completion of Phase I, a $49 million project at Main Street Station.  The restored train station now delivers passenger rail service to Richmond’s downtown and handles about 12,000 passengers annually.  Amtrak high-speed rail is being developed along with taxi, bus, bike, and other transportation modalities. In addition, the city is developing a drop-off parking plaza, track improvements, and a regional rail.
