Mayor’s Business Visitation Program
The business community is an extremely vital customer and partner of the City. Therefore, the business community’s needs and concerns are taken very seriously. The Mayor’s Business Visitation Program began in 1994 and the visitation team is comprised of the Mayor, City Council and senior department heads. The team meets with a pre-selected business in the community, on site, two times per month. During the meeting, the company is able to discuss matters of concern regarding staff or management issues. These visits also allow the City to share new programs or incentives that might assist with the company’s growth or expansion. Following the visit, many unresolved issues are assigned to and followed up by City staff.

Also included in the Business Visitation Team are representatives from the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, Riverside County Economic Development Agency, Workforce Development Center, Riverside Community College District and the University of California, Riverside. Through the Visitation Program, the City has been able to offer a number of resources, including: expanding facility needs, labor force, staff training, relocation with the City, legislative concerns, city services, zoning codes and permitting processes.
