Programs & Partnerships

To help city employees gain critical leadership skills and perform the duties of their positions more effectively, Riverside has created a leadership certificate program through Riverside Community College's Business Partnership program.

Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce (GRCC) has always been a strong and committed pillar of the Inland Empire. Through its work with local government and other institutions, the GRCC has a large impact on economic growth in the area while working to maintain a high quality of life for the city's residents.

The Chamber is involved in all facets of activity in Riverside and works to bring people together to solve problems through meetings, discussions, and behind the scenes work.

The Higher Education/Business Council, which is made up of business leadership and the administrators of three universities and the community college located in the city, are collaborating on ways to increase cooperation, assist institutions and integrate more advanced technology development at the institutions and throughout the City.

The city organized the Santa Ana River Task Force, which brings together a multi-level working group of diverse private and public agencies and individuals to create strategies and to identify funding sources to capitalize on an underutilized riverfront resource along the City's western boundary.

SmartRiverside, a city-nurtured nonprofit organization is implementing a downtown wireless mall to make the city center a more technically competitive and sophisticated environment. Other initiatives help put computers in schools and in low-income homes.
