Much of the activity of the local arts scene runs through the Riverside Arts Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the cultural life of Riverside through leadership in educational, financial and technical assistance to artists, arts organizations and community groups. The Council fosters an appreciation for the contribution of the arts and entertainment to the growth, prosperity and quality of life in the culturally diverse City and County of Riverside. In addition to its many programs, the Arts Council sponsors community events such as the annual and enormously popular Mayor's Ball for the Arts.

With the support of the City, the Riverside Convention and Visitor Bureau accommodates the needs and wants of meeting planners, travel agents and those traveling to Riverside.

A large segment of Riverside's visitors come for the many conventions and tradeshows that are held in the Riverside Convention Center that offers over 45,000 square feet of indoor meeting and exhibit space. Newly remodeled, The Center can accommodate groups of 25 to 2,000 and even has an outdoor plaza for open-air exhibits, receptions and tradeshows.
