If someone asked you to paint a picture of St. Petersburg, Florida, you would undoubtedly choose blue for the pristine waters that skirt its 260 miles of uninterrupted, accessible shoreline. Home to ten marine institutes, an extensive waterfront park system, several museums, Florida’s largest city-owned marinas in Florida and a working port, St. Petersburg celebrates its waterfront through careful environmental stewardship and responsible commercial development to protect and enhance the value of this unique natural resource.

Choose green for St. Petersburg’s 130 parks, expansive nature preserves, botanical gardens, one of the most extensive networks of bike trails in the southeast, and pedestrian walkways that wind their way through intimate tree-lined neighborhoods. St. Petersburg’s neighborhoods are diverse and characterized by strong resident involvement matched equally by the city’s investment and commitment to strong neighborhood partnerships. Through a citizen-driven, grassroots program called St. Pete Vision 2020, city leaders and residents worked together to develop a future vision that ensures quality development and social and economic equity within the city, and has completed a process to rewrite the city’s land use regulations based on these parameters.

Choose red for the energy and vitality of the St. Petersburg arts and entertainment community. One of the primary economic engines of this entire region, arts and culture are woven into the very fabric of daily life for residents and visitors alike. St. Petersburg boasts seven museums of art, history and science, three professional theaters, numerous gallery areas, top quality exhibition centers for contemporary art, one of the best regional orchestras in the country and an exciting slate of festivals and entertainment events that attract millions of visitors each year and are enjoyed by residents daily.
