Leadership Tacoma-Pierce County is a regional community leadership program founded in 1979. Its mission is to provide a lifelong commitment to strong leadership by creating awareness of key issues affecting the local region. The foundation challenges emerging and existing community leaders to bring about positive change through informed leadership.

Leadership Tacoma-Pierce strengthens the community by establishing a pool of committed leaders to serve as board members to the foundation and to perform as active volunteers within the area. It also promotes community awareness to a talented group of leaders who can be called upon to generate solutions to community issues.  

This initiative provides both employers and individuals a number of benefits including:
