Tulsa has a strong focus on neighborhood development and Mayor Kathy Taylor has encouraged this by creating new programs such as NeighborFest. The Mayor’s Office for Neighborhoods is the go-to resource for neighborhood associations. There are more than 250 neighborhood and homeowner’s associations registered with the City of Tulsa.

NeighborFest is a celebration of neighborhoods and community. These community-building celebrations are held at different City parks throughout the summer — one in each Council District. This is a great chance for residents to get to know their neighbors and meet City elected officials and staff.

Every year the City of Tulsa has a citywide Block Party Day. These block parties provide a good way to get together and meet your neighbors. Block parties can vary from elaborate celebrations complete with children's activities to small picnics. The Department of Working in Neighborhoods can arrange for visits from the Tulsa Fire Department and the Tulsa Police Department, and provide barricades to block your street during the party.

Keeping our neighborhoods beautiful is essential to maintain property values and neighborhood pride. City services are available to accomplish this goal. They include: bulky waste pickup, curbside recycling, dead animal collection, free woodchips, greenwaste drop-off, free landfill days and hazardous household pollutant collection events.
