The Mayor’s Office for Neighborhoods supports all registered neighborhood and homeowner's associations and organizes events for all community members. NeighborFest and the citywide Block Party Day continue to grow in size and help build community spirit.

Tulsa has a loyal and committed community leadership. They help run groups such as the Coalition of Historic Neighborhoods, Preserve Midtown Tulsa and Tulsa Preservation Commission which help keep the integrity of the homes in historic neighborhoods.

The Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission holds public meetings each month where community members can be involved in discussions about future developments.

Tulsa’s Brookside is a thriving, affluent business district offering fine dining, fun nightlife, unique shopping and exceptional services—surrounded by beautiful neighborhoods and churches.

The Cherry Street District is set near Downtown in the northern Midtown area, defined by a portion of 15th Street dubbed "Cherry Street." Visitors to this neighborhood find great local restaurants, boutique shops, art galleries, and antique shops—all within walking distance of many historic Tulsa homes. Cherry Street is surrounded by four of Tulsa’s historic housing districts: Swan Lake, North Maple Ridge, Gillette and Yorktown neighborhoods. A new addition to the Cherry Street residential community: the St. Louis Cherry Street Lofts.

East of Downtown is Tulsa’s oldest suburban shopping area. The Kendall-Whittier area is artsy and historic, and the recently restored Circle Cinema is located in this area. The Kendall-Whittier shopping area and surrounding neighborhoods are now popular with Tulsa’s rapidly growing Hispanic community. Just east of this area is The University of Tulsa.
