Forsyth County Department of Social Services provides numerous programs to aid the community in human development.
Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP)
RAPP is an educational and support group for grandparents who have become the primary caregivers for their children's children. In order to help relatives meet the challenges they face, RAPP will provide services including caregiver support groups, educational programs, referral services, and networking opportunities.
TEAM Division
The Temporary Economic Assistance and Maintenance Division, or TEAM, provides help with basic human needs. Through financial assistance programs, families are provided aid while they search for and secure employment.
Work First Employment Services
In North Carolina Welfare Reform is called Work First. Services that a family can access include short-termed vocational education, job readiness instruction, childcare, counseling to resolve family issues, and treatment for domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health issues.
