Winston-Salem - Innovations |

|
Private developers are also implementing these mixed-use, walkable community concepts in suburban Winston-Salem. Examples of such communities include:
Hillcrest
Hillcrest is being developed from over 160 acres of an old golf course. It is to be turned into a mixed-use community featuring commercial, residential, and public spaces arranged into a walkable "main street." Residential streets will contain a variety of housing types, styles, and densities that radiate out from the core area of the neighborhood.
Harper Hill Commons
The commons is an 18-acre development that is still under construction. It will incorporate a mixture of neighborhood commercial, office, and townhouse residential development in a village setting with internal streets and sidewalks.
Northern Quarters
Northern Quarters will feature townhouse, multi-family, and live-work units in a 34-acre mixed-use village that also includes smaller scale commercial, restaurant, and office uses.
