COYL works to increase the role of young leaders in the community by fostering participation, commitment, and collaboration. COYL organizes a round table discussion group that includes individual supporters and representatives from organizations across Forsyth County that cater to and provide activities for those under 40 years of age. The program strives to be a motivating factor in a person's decision to invest his time, talent, and resources in the community. Its long-term objective is to foster a core supportive relationship between the organizations and the future leaders of Forsyth County.

The alliance assists in the coordination of the private sector's response to economic changes in the community. It develops a focused action agenda and selects projects that have a positive impact on job creation and economic vitality of the community. All major corporations are involved in this organization to help move Winston-Salem forward.
